About the job


The AI Product Owner will shape, prioritise and deliver AI-enabled products that improve operations. This role owns the product lifecycle from opportunity discovery and business case development through to roadmap ownership, agile delivery, adoption and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the AI product vision, roadmap and priorities
  • Lead discovery with project teams to identify high-value problems and practical AI-enabled solutions
  • Develop business cases, including value opportunity, delivery model, risks and success measures
  • Own and prioritise product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria and release scope
  • Work with technical teams, subject matter experts and vendors to deliver quality product increments
  • Drive adoption through stakeholder engagement, demos, training and feedback loops
  • Define and track product performance metrics and realised business impact
  • Ensure products include appropriate governance, security, privacy and responsible AI controls
  • Maintain clear product documentation and communicate progress, risks and decisions
  • Help build AI capability through coaching and product delivery discipline.


Qualifications And Experience

  • Product ownership or product management experience delivering digital, AI, analytics or decision-support products
  • Experience in complex operational, engineering, construction, mining, energy or heavy industrial major projects
  • Experience taking products from discovery and prototype through pilot, adoption and continuous improvement
  • Experience working with project delivery, engineering, assurance, governance or readiness teams
  • Practical understanding of agile delivery, product discovery, OKRs, experimentation and benefits realisation
  • Familiarity with AI product patterns including workflow automation, document intelligence and decision support
  • Awareness of software delivery, MLOps, data governance, cyber security and responsible AI
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, prioritisation and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write clear business cases, product requirements, user stories and executive updates
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with agile, product, project, data, AI or cloud certifications desirable.
